Topics covered are extremely wide-ranging and include: the writings of Sir Isaac Newton; the French Revolution; reviews of literature and fashion throughout Europe; political debates; and coffee house gossip and discussion. * Eighteenth Century Journals I (ECJ I) contains material from the Hope Collection at the Bodleian Library, Oxford, one of the finest surviving collections of eighteenth-century periodicals. * Eighteenth Century Journals II (ECJ II) comprises more than 70 popular 18th century journals held by the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center. The journals have been selected from the bibliography of Powell Stewart (British newspapers and periodicals, 1632-1800). The titles chosen for this project have been screened carefully against EEBO, Early English Newspapers and ECCO so that there is minimal overlap with these projects.

The Afghan Serials Collection is an essential collection of partisan serials from the Wahdat Library, the most comprehensive private collection of rare newspapers and journals from Afghanistan. This collection is a major contribution to the preservation of the history of the region and is comprised of the careful selection of more than 2,500 individual issues of 46 newspapers and journals published in Persian, Pushto, Arabic, Urdu, and English. The Belarus Anti-Fascist Resistance Leaflets collection consists of 97 World War II leaflets produced during the period of German occupation of Belarus in 1941-1944. Most of the leaflets in this collection were published clandestinely by the multiple Soviet guerilla (partisan) detachments, as well as by the scores of underground resistance groups which operated in German-occupied cities and villages. The leaflets were distributed to the population of the occupied territories and were addressed to the “Belarusian brothers and sisters,” to the young men who were lured into serving in German police and paramilitary units, to the workers and farmers of various Belarus regions, etc.

This database contains the content from 30 newspaper titles published during the period of German occupation of Belarus between 1942-1945. Most of the issues were printed by underground resistance groups in secret printing press facilities operating in small Belarusian towns in the territories occupied by the Germans, while others were distributed by Belarusian partisan detachments operating from remote areas of Belarus.

Derwent Innovations Index (DII) is a comprehensive database of international patent information, merging records from the Derwent World Patents Index® with patent citation information from the Derwent Patents Citation Index® (Derwent PCI). The index provides web access to over 14 million basic inventions and more than 20 million patents, with coverage dating back to 1963 in some technology areas. The database gives users a comprehensive overview of inventions in the global marketplace in three categories: Chemical, Engineering, and Electrical & Electronic. The bibliographic records are enriched by citation data from Derwent PCI appearing in patents from 6 major patenting authorities. Derwent DCI provides details of citations, both patent and literature, reviewed by the examiner during the examination of a patent application. Prior to May 1997, examiner and author citations were provided for 16 patent-issuing authorities. The database also contains a backfile with patent records dating back to the 1970's. Every week approximately 25,000 patent documents from more than 47 patent-issuing authorities are reviewed and value enhanced by Derwent's patent experts. In addition, every week new cited and citing references are added for approximately 45,000 records from the six major patent-issuing authorities. The resource also includes Derwent Chemical Reactions (DCR), a unique database of searchable chemical structures and other substance-based information. It is used to search for specific compounds that are indexed in Derwent World Patents Index records.

The online edition of Dictionary of German Biography (DBE) provides information about people from all aspects of public life: men and women from the entire German-speaking area, from the time of the very earliest written records right up to the present. The biographies inform the reader about a person's origins, education, influential encounters, professional development, places of influence, significant works and achievements, friendships and relationships, membership of groups and associations, reception and, in special cases, prizes and honours. To be able to evaluate the life and work of a person in its completeness, DBE only contains people who are already dead. Dictionary of German Biography Online contains all articles from the second book edition of DBE.

Digi20 concentrates on the digitalization of monographs published in the second half of the 20th century, predominantly in the field of humanities and social sciences. In the first phase of the project, approx. 4,700 titles of programme segments of the publishers Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht, Wilhelm Fink / Ferdinand Schöningh as well as Otto Sagner were digitized. In a second phase, further approx. 1,750 titles are being included till 2014 by consecutively digitizing all monographs up to a defined ‘Moving Wall’ of three to five years to the current year of publication.

The Digital Library of the Commons (DLC) is a gateway to the international literature on the commons. The DLC provides free and open access to full-text articles, papers, and dissertations. This site contains an author-submission portal; an Image Database; the Comprehensive Bibliography of the Commons; a Keyword Thesaurus, and links to relevant reference sources on the study of the commons.

The Digital National Security Archive of the U.S.A. is a comprehensive collection of essential primary documents concerning the U.S. foreign and military policy since 1945. The database, consisting of 33 partial collections, contains more than 80,000 of the most important declassified documents. Thereby, it is about political scripts such as directives of the President, notes, and diplomatic dispatches. It is also about meeting notes, autonomous reports, briefings, communications from the White House, e-mails, confidential letters, and other secret documents. For each partial collection there is included additionally an explanatory reference part containing an introduction, a chronology, a glossary, and a bibliography. DigiZeitschriften is a digital library containing digitized back issues of core German research journals. At the moment the platform provides full-text access to more than 600 journals dating back to 1850. The archive content is edited on an ongoing basis. Any existing gaps will be filled and missing data steadily added. Users from the MPG have access to the complete journal collection, older public domain content is available free of charge to anyone.

Duncker & Humblot is a German producer of high-quality academic research and scholarly publications, especially in the fields of law and social science. Dutch Pamphlets Online comprises both the complete Knuttel collection from the National Library of the Netherlands and the Van Alphen collection from Groningen University Library. The famous Knuttel collection contains some 34,000 pamphlets, to which the Van Alphen collection adds another 2,800. There is no overlap between the two. Combined, these collections form an exhaustive treasure trove of primary texts on the history of the Low Countries between 1486 and 1853.

Early American Imprints, Series I: Evans, 1639-1800 has been hailed as one of the most important collections ever produced on microform. The collection is based on the renowned American Bibliography by Charles Evans and enhanced by Roger Bristol's Supplement to Evans' American Bibliography. It serves as a foundation set for research involving early American history, literature, philosophy, religion, and more. It is based on the noted -American Bibliography, 1801-1819- by Ralph R. Shaw and Richard H. All works printed in Europe before 1701, regardless of language, fall within the scope of the project, together with all pre-1701 works in European languages printed further afield. Early European Books builds upon and complements Early English Books Online (EEBO) and is largely concerned with non-Anglophone materials. Collections available (to users in Italy): Collection 2 - contains early printed volumes from the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Firenze. The selection of works focuses on four collections of particular historic and bibliographic importance within the library's holdings from this period.

East India Company offers access to a unique collection of India Office Records from the British Library, London. Containing royal charters, correspondence, trading diaries, minutes of council meetings and reports of expeditions, among other document types, this resource charts the history of British trade and rule in the Indian subcontinent and beyond from 1599 to 1947.

On the basis of the English Short Title Catalogue, Eighteenth Century Collections Online enable access to more than 180,000 titles of books, pamphlets, essays and single sheet prints primarily published in Great Britain.

This collections contains 1,529 e-books containing more than 572,000 pages from 681 book titles that were written by 311 authoresses. These e-books were created from 1,830 books originally published between 1776 and 1876. The collection first and foremost contains novels and short stories, but also plays, poetry as well as a few anthologies, travel literature and children's books that stem from the holdings of the Fürstliche Bibliothek Corvey. It is the most comprehensive compilation of women's literature from the romantic period in English language. The collection contains approximately 90 percent of the British prose published during that time. The e-books contain digitally enhanced facsimile pages of the historic book pages, and additionally bookmarks pointing to relevant sections of a work. On the e-book pages, full text search functions can be carried out within the historic text and layout.

A comprehensive online resource for the visual study of human culture and behavior and the largest, most affordable streaming video collection of its kind, Ethnographic Video Online contains more than 500 hours of classic and contemporary documentaries produced by leading video producers in the discipline; previously unpublished footage from working anthropologists and ethnographers in the field; and select feature films. The collection of "Foreign Office Files for South East Asia" follows the establishment of an independent Malaysia in 1963, following the release of the Cobbold Commission Report. Under President Sukarno, Indonesia strongly opposed this decision and hostilities between the two countries escalated. Alongside tensions with Malaysia, Indonesia would experience growing civil unrest in this period, with anti-Communist sentiments on the rise. Documents featured in this collection cover these fundamental events alongside a number of key themes, including trade, economic development and authoritarian rule in this period. Consisting of correspondence, maps, government dispatches and press releases from the FO 371, DO 169, DO 187, FCO 15 and FCO 24 series, this resource offers insights into the political and economic challenges faced during this period as the region moved towards industrialisation and establishing the foundations for economic growth. Gender: Identity and Social Change includes primary sources for the study of gender history, women’s suffrage, the feminist movement and the men’s movement. Other key areas represented in the material include: employment and labour, education, government and legislation, the body, domesticity and the family. Explore records from men’s and women’s organisations and pressure groups, detailing twentieth-century lobbying and activism on a wide array of issues to reveal developing gender relations and prevalent challenges. This collection altogether (in two parts) contains more than 220,000 pages from 848 ebooks by authoresses of the 18th and 19th centuries; first and foremost covering short stories, but also plays, travel literature, children's books, biographies and memoirs. The ebooks were created from books which were originally published during the classical and romantic periods, the pre-March era (Vormärz), the period of Young Germany (Junges Deutschland) and afterwards, and which stem from holdings of the Fürstliche Bibliothek Corvey. The collection contains digitally enhanced facsimile pages of the historic book pages, with links pointing to relevant sections of the works.

The research database "German Literary Expressionism Online", published in 2009, compiles 151 journals, yearbooks, collections and anthologies from the early 20th century, containing 40,000 articles and 79,000 full text pages in total.

In the late 1800's, Dutch physician and feminist Aletta Jacobs and her husband C.V. Gerritsen began collecting books, pamphlets and periodicals reflecting the revolution of a feminist consciousness and the movement for women's rights. By the time their successors finished their work in 1945, the Gerritsen Collection was the greatest single source for the study of women's history in the world, with materials spanning four centuries and 15 languages. The Gerritsen curators gathered more than 4,700 publications from continental Europe, the U.S., the United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand, dating from 1543-1945. The anti-feminist case is presented as well as the pro-feminist; many other titles present a purely objective record of the condition of women at a given time.

ProQuest Historical Newspapers offers full-text and full-image articles for significant newspapers dating back to the 18th Century.

The International Encyclopedia of the Social & Behavioral Sciences offers a source of social and behavioral sciences reference material. It comprises over 3,900 articles, commissioned by 71 Section Editors, and includes 90,000 bibliographic references as well as comprehensive name and subject indexes.

"Izvestiia" ("News") is a daily newspaper published countrywide in Russia. Though, within the (by now) wide variety of the Russian media landscape, it counts among the newspapers with the widest circulation even today, its significance for research in the field of Eastern Europe studies is mainly based on the Soviet period. Izvestiia is an important resource for interdisciplinary research of the entire period of communist rule from 1917 to 1991, as well as of the Soviet reception by the West.
