CAB Abstracts is a bibliographic database compiled by the non-profit organization CAB International. It covers the significant research and development literature in the fields of agriculture, forestry, aspects of human health, human nutrition, animal health, and the management and conservation of natural resources.

Cambridge Books Online is the online content delivery service for Cambridge University Press's electronic book collections. The current MPG subscription comprises selected subject collections, additional content may have been licensed by individual Max Planck institutes. Max Planck authors can publish their scientific work at CUP as an Open Access eBook, with book publishing charges partly covered centrally. Further details are available on the MPDL website.

Cambridge Journals Online is the online content delivery service for Cambridge University Press’s collection of leading journals across the sciences, social sciences and humanities. Max Planck researchers have access to the full collection of nearly 400 journals across STM and HSS. SciFinder-n is a research solution that provides access to the world's most comprehensive and authoritative collection of chemical reactions, substances and scientific literature curated by expert scientists in chemistry and related fields like physics, material science, biochemistry and genetics. Of key importance is CAS Registry, the CAS substance collection, which includes substances, their names, structures and registry numbers. In addition, proteins and nucleic acid data are indexed providing a unique environment for molecular biologists, e.g. for design of target molecules. Furthermore, two additional CAS solutions are part of the MPG subscription: * CAS Formulus: a comprehensive formulations database that supports formulation scientists to create products * CAS Anlaytical Methods: a tool to search, compare and understand the latest published analytical and synthetic scientific methods

The collection contains reports prepared for and by a variety of Soviet and Ukrainian government agencies, such as the KGB, documenting and detailing the most important developments in the wake of the explosion of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) on April 26, 1986 in the Ukrainian city of Pripyat. It also provides internal reports and investigations on the various causes of the disaster, including the problems with the design of the NPP, and the extent of the Soviet and Ukrainian government knowledge on many of the shortcomings that made the Chernobyl meltdown not only possible but in a sense inevitable.

The Chernobyl Newspapers Collection comprises three previously unavailable local newspapers published in the Chernobyl area in the years before and after the nuclear disaster. The collection gives researchers unique access to important lesser-known primary sources from the era. The two newspapers "Prapor peremohy" (1981-1988) and "Trybuna pratsi" (1981-1990), published in Ukrainian within or in the immediate vicinity of the exclusion zone, provide the opportunity to explore the larger socio-cultural and historical context of the regions affected by the Chernobyl disaster. "Tribuna Energetika" (1979-1990), published in Russian under the aegis of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, provides insight into the everyday life of the power plant and the city of Pripyat.

The Chicago Manual of Style (CMS) is a style guide for American English published since 1906 by the University of Chicago Press. The CMS deals with various aspects of editorial practice, from American English grammar and usage to document preparation. It also prescribes writing and citation styles widely used in publishing. The platform offers the full contents of the most recent two editions.

CAJ is the most comprehensive, full-text database of Chinese journals in the world, including more than 50 million full-text articles from about 10,000 academic journals in all disciplines. The MPG subscription comprises all subject editions (Series A-J) and covers access back to 1994.

Complete full text database of Chinese publications particularly from the republican period (1911 - 1946) to the present, with a focus on publications issued before 1976. These publications are difficult to be obtained abroad, since the book market for the People's Republic of China was globally available only after the late 1970s. The database contains 700,000 titles (monographs, collections, partly journals from the republican period and other forms of text) from all subject areas, including literature and archival material. The focus lies on social sciences and humanities.

Copac exposes rare and unique research material by bringing together the catalogues of c.90 major UK and Irish libraries. In a single search you can discover the holdings of the UK’s national libraries (including the British Library), many University libraries, and specialist research libraries.

CrossAsia is an interdisciplinary portal and central access point for online information on East and Southeast Asian studies. The portal provides an integrated search of distributed databases (free and subject to licence), access to selected digital collections and an online guide of electronic resources related to East and Southeast Asian studies (OGEA). Access for Max Planck researchers is subject to a local agreement free of charge.

Current Contents Connect provides access to bibliographic information in over 8,000 scholarly journals and more than 2,000 books. CC Connect also offers access to eFirst content, which allows you to view bibliographic information from several hundred electronic journals before an issue is published in print. CC Connect provides a very convenient way to select the newest editions of your journals of interest and to browse their Tables of Contents (TOC). The Data Citation Index (DCI) on the Web of Science™ platform provides a single point of access to quality research data from repositories across disciplines and around the world. DCI includes bibliographic metadata from research data in Data Studies and Data Sets from a wide range of international data repositories. Source records include three document types: Repository, Data Study, and Data Set. Each record in the product contains standard bibliographic metadata such as author, abstract, keywords, descriptor terms, and more. Records may include cited references and citing article counts. DCI covers research areas in the social sciences, physical sciences, life sciences, and humanities.

Data Europa EU is a central point of access to European open data from international, European Union, national, regional, local and geodata portals. The official portal for Euopean data consolidates the former EU Open Data Portal and the European Data Portal. Data Europa EU gives access and fosters the reuse of European open data among citizens, business and organisations. The portal promotes and supports the release of more and better-quality metadata and data by the EU’s institutions, agencies and other bodies, and European countries, enhancing the transparency of European administrations. Furthermore, it is intended to educate citizens and organisations about the opportunities that arise from the availability of open data. Currently, Data Europa EU contains more than 1.5 million European public sector datasets grouped by over 180 catalogues and pertaining to different topical categories.

Walter De Gruyter publishes a wide variety of content covering humanities, medicine, the sciences and law. The "De Gruyter Online" platform provides access to title information and the electronic content for De Gruyter journals and books under one roof. The DeepL Translator is a neural machine translation service that is freely available online. Launched in 2017, it started with translations between 7 European languages and currently supports 24 languages. The MPG subscription to DeepL Pro ensures unlimited text translations and that the translated content is not stored or reused. The catalog comprises the holdings of the locations Leipzig since 1913, Frankfurt am Main since 1945, the holdings of the Deutsches Musikarchiv since 1976, and archival papers of the Deutsches Exilarchiv 1933-1945 since 2005. DigiZeitschriften is a digital library containing digitized back issues of core German research journals. At the moment the platform provides full-text access to more than 600 journals dating back to 1850. The archive content is edited on an ongoing basis. Any existing gaps will be filled and missing data steadily added. Users from the MPG have access to the complete journal collection, older public domain content is available free of charge to anyone.

The primary aim of DOAB is to increase discoverability of Open Access books. Academic publishers are invited to provide metadata of their Open Access books to DOAB. An overview of participating publisher can be found here.

The DOAJ service lists toll-free, quality controlled, scientific and scholarly journals. It generally aims at covering all subjects and languages. The DOAJ Articles Search is restricted to those journals the publisher has supplied article metadata for.
