The database contains 18th and 19th century primary literature in German, English, and French from the Corvey library, and thus presents the holdings of a library of the nobility preserved as a whole. Nearly all textual genres are represented, whereas the contentual focus lies on the Romantic period between 1790 and 1840 (1870, respectively). The collection is structured in a modular way with regard to languages and textual genres, and comprises 5,952 works which are provided in digital form for the first time. Throughout Europe, national patent offices and the European Patent Office (EPO) offer free patent information on the Internet Patents reveal solutions to technical problems, and they represent an inexhaustable source of information: more than 80 percent of man's technical knowledge is described in patent literature. From the middle of 1998 onwards, esp@cenet users have been able to access the bibliographic data of all patents published in the preceding two years by any member state of the European Patent Organisation, as well as by the European Patent Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). In addition, full-page facsimile images of documents are also retrievable to facilitate more detailed analysis of these documents. This collection altogether (in two parts) contains more than 220,000 pages from 848 ebooks by authoresses of the 18th and 19th centuries; first and foremost covering short stories, but also plays, travel literature, children's books, biographies and memoirs. The ebooks were created from books which were originally published during the classical and romantic periods, the pre-March era (Vormärz), the period of Young Germany (Junges Deutschland) and afterwards, and which stem from holdings of the Fürstliche Bibliothek Corvey. The collection contains digitally enhanced facsimile pages of the historic book pages, with links pointing to relevant sections of the works.

In the late 1800's, Dutch physician and feminist Aletta Jacobs and her husband C.V. Gerritsen began collecting books, pamphlets and periodicals reflecting the revolution of a feminist consciousness and the movement for women's rights. By the time their successors finished their work in 1945, the Gerritsen Collection was the greatest single source for the study of women's history in the world, with materials spanning four centuries and 15 languages. The Gerritsen curators gathered more than 4,700 publications from continental Europe, the U.S., the United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand, dating from 1543-1945. The anti-feminist case is presented as well as the pro-feminist; many other titles present a purely objective record of the condition of women at a given time.

The statistics, issued quarterly, are updated as new data are received and time series become available. Catalogue of Exhibited Works and Depository Holdings. The online edition Paintings in Museums presents a systematic index of the entire holdings of works, both on display and in deposits, owned by nearly 650 museums in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. As the publisher of DIN, Europe's largest standardization body, DIN Media provides digital versions of German standards as DIN and VDI standards as well as European and a multitude of international standards, including ISO standards.
