It creates incentives for faculty to improve teaching materials and to use open licenses. It supports work on aligning higher education with job market needs and on making student mobility easier. It also challenges faculty and universities to work together to steward this important data resource. Open Syllabus currently has a corpus of nine million English-language syllabi from 140 countries. It uses machine learning and other techniques to extract citations, dates, fields, and other metadata from these documents. The SAO/NASA Astrophysics Data System (ADS) is a digital library portal for researchers in astronomy and physics, operated by the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) under a NASA grant. The ADS maintains three bibliographic databases containing more than 13 million records covering publications in Astronomy and Astrophysics, Physics, and the arXiv e-prints. Abstracts and full-text of major astronomy and physics publications are indexed and searchable through the new ADS modern search form as well as a classic search form.

Indice SBN is the union catalog of the Italian libraries that have joined the National Library Service. The National Library Service (SBN) is the library network in Italy created by Ministry for Cultural and Environmental Asset with the cooperation of the regions and universities. Libraries participating in the SBN project are more than 1000, among others the National Central Libraries in Rome and Florence, as well as state, city, university and academic libraries. The research database "Scholarly Journals and Newspapers in the Age of Enlightenment", conducted by the Göttingen Academy of Sciences, provides an extensive systematic index to German-language periodicals of the 18th century. It is based on the long-term research project "Scholarly Journals and Newspapers", which besides indexing and digitizing these scholarly journals aims to visualize their significant role for the emergence and structures of the "Enlightened scientific community". The project focuses on interdisciplinary journals, comprising of original contributions, book reviews, scholarly news as well as all facets of critique. The interactive online database also includes the data of the two previous research projects "Index of German-language Periodicals" (IdZ 18) and "Systematic Index of German-language Review Journals" (IdRZ 18). By the year 2025, it will give access to 323 periodicals (ca. 2,775 volumes and ca. 1,260,000 pages), spanning the time period 1688-1815.

SCImago uses its own mechanism, based on Google's Pagerank, to rank scientific journals in the fields of natural sciences, engineering, medicine (STM) and social sciences. Based on journal and country-specific indicators recorded in the Scopus scientific database, the citation frequency of publications is analyzed and journals are ranked on this basis.

SciPost is a complete scientific publication portal managed by and for scientists. It is purely online-based, and offers freely, openly, globally and perpetually accessible science (open access). Preprint handling and circulation occurs through the well-established arXiv; the rest of the publication process, from peer refereeing through publication all the way to post-publication commenting, is offered by SciPost. SciPost does not charge individual author fees, the Max Planck Society is a supporting partner of the project.

The bibliographic project, Bibliography of Books Printed in the German Speaking Countries from 1601 to 1700 (VD17), intends to establish a German National Bibliography of the 17th century imprints. All German titles and all titles which have been printed or published in the former German speaking countries will be catalogued. Broadsheets are listed, musica practica (notations) and maps are excluded. VD 17 will be continuously enlarged and made more complete by contributions from associated libraries, the database currently contains more than 300.000 entries.

zbMATH Open (formerly known as Zentralblatt MATH) is the world's most complete and longest running abstracting and reviewing service in pure and applied mathematics. The MATH Database contains several million entries drawn from more than 3,500 serials and journals, and more than 1,100 book series and monographs. The entries are classified according to the Mathematics Subject Classification Scheme (MSC 2000).

The ZDB is the world’s largest specialized database for serial titles (journals, annuals, newspapers etc., incl. e-journals). The ZDB contains more than 1 million bibliographic records of serials from the 16th century onwards, from all countries, in all languages, held in 4000 German (and some foreign) libraries, with holdings information. It does not index individual journal articles.

This database contains references to 185.858 articles of educational relevance from domestic and foreign journals and newsletters. All education areas are covered: kindergarten, school, job training, academy, further training, discussions and decisions of matters of education policy. The database was concluded on 30 April 2015 and is no longer updated, but the archive is still available for document ordering. -- In dieser Datenbank sind 185.858 bildungsrelevante Artikel aus in- und ausländischen Zeitungen und Newslettern nachgewiesen und mit Schlagwörtern erschlossen.
