The Acta Sanctorum are one of the most important sources for the exploration of society and culture in the Early Christian and medieval Europe. Our knowledge of this epoch is almost exclusively based on the Hagiographic literature, in particular on this monumental collection of texts published over a period of 300 years by the Societé des Bollandistes. The current release features the English translation of Barth's magnum opus, The Church Dogmatics, in its entirety. The original German version, Die kirchliche Dogmatik, is also included as are the first 36 volumes of Barth's Gesamtausgabe, which includes hundreds of letters, sermons, lectures, conversations, and academic writings.
