It is a unique and invaluable reference tool, an essential key to understanding the world of Islam, and the authoritative source not only on the religion, but also on the believers and the countries in which they live. * Lexicon Gregorianum Online is the most comprehensive Greek-German dictionary of the language used by Gregory of Nyssa. It is the only dictionary available specifically addressing the vocabulary of late Classical Greek. It documents Gregory's complete vocabulary, taking account of the syntax, meaning and connotations of every occurrence of a key word in his writings. The Chicago Manual of Style (CMS) is a style guide for American English published since 1906 by the University of Chicago Press. The CMS deals with various aspects of editorial practice, from American English grammar and usage to document preparation. It also prescribes writing and citation styles widely used in publishing. Walter De Gruyter publishes a wide variety of content covering humanities, medicine, the sciences and law. The "De Gruyter Online" platform provides access to title information and the electronic content for De Gruyter journals and books under one roof. The ScienceDirect interface provides access to the electronic content owned by Elsevier and third-party information providers like Cell Press. Max Planck researchers have full text access to nearly the entire journal collection with archival content, including Cell Press and The Lancet journals. The MPG subscription also covers a collection of 680 Elsevier eBooks acquired in 2015. Moreover, selected eBook backfiles have been purchased within the scope of the German national licenses program.

The CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics (HBCP), updated annualy, provides broad coverage of all types of physical science data commonly encountered by scientists and engineers. It consists of tables of data and current international recommendations on nomenclature, symbols and units. A new series highlights the achievements of some of the major historical figures in chemistry and physics.

The IEEE Electronic Library (IEL) provides access to almost a third of the world's current electrical engineering and computer science literature, featuring high-quality content from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). IEL covers all IEEE journals, transactions, and magazines, IEEE conference proceedings, IET conference proceedings, IEEE published standards and IEEE Standards Dictionary Online. The subscription includes complimentary access to selected VDE VERLAG Conference Proceedings. Access is provided via the IEEE Xplore interface.

IOPscience is a platform for scientific content published by IOP Publishing and selected publishing partners. Users from the Max Planck Society have access to nearly the entire journal collection. This includes the content provided by the Institute of Physics, The Electrochemical Society, Turpion (English translations of leading Russian journals) and the American Astronomical Society. In addition, the Max Planck Society covers article-processing charges for all IOP fully Open Access and selected hybrid journals centrally. Further details are available on the MPDL website.

JSTOR provides access to more than 12 million academic journal articles, books, and primary sources in 75 disciplines. Users from the Max Planck Society have access to selected archival collections of scholarly journals and more than 3,000 Open Access ebooks. The book selection is continuously extended by single e-book acquisitions by MPG libraries. For the archival collections, JSTOR's agreements with publishers include an updating provision referred to as a "moving wall". The moving wall is a fixed period of time ranging, in most cases, from two to five years, that defines the gap between the most recently published issue and the date of the most recent issues available in JSTOR.

Karger is a scientific publisher of journals and books in all medical areas, including immunology, genetics, oncology, nephrology, neurology, cellular and molecular biology. MPG staff has full text access to the current content of the entire Karger journal collection and selected eBooks. O'Reilly is an electronic reference library by providing access to technical content from leading publishers, including books, videos, proven learning paths, case studies, interactive tutorials and audio books. The learning platform gives access to the latest titles from O'Reilly and from Pearson's collection of imprints which include: Addison-Wesley Professional, Adobe Press, Cisco Press, Macromedia Press, New Riders, Peachpit Press, Prentice Hall PTR, Sun Microsystems Press, Que, and Sams. Microsoft Press titles are also available in O'Reilly.

The Oxford English Dictionary is a guide to the meaning, history, and pronunciation of over half a million words and phrases, both present and past, from across the English-speaking world. It traces the usage of words through 3.5 million quotations from a wide range of international English language sources, from classic literature and specialist periodicals to film scripts, song lyrics and social media posts.

The RSC publishing platform provides access to electronic journals and books from the Royal Society of Chemistry. From this page, you can reach over 1 million chemical science articles and chapters. Users from the MPG have access to the entire journal collection, including the RSC journals archive covering articles published back to 1841. In addition, a collection of about 900 ebooks was purchased within the scope of the German national licenses program. The SpringerLink platform provides MPG staff with access to a huge collection of English and German eBooks from 2005 onwards, as well as the English and the German collection of the Springer Book Archive (1842-2004). In addition, the content of selected book series is available. Includes major reference works and dictionaries. Max Planck researchers who publish a monograph or edited volume with Springer Nature as an Open Access eBook receive a discount on the standard Book Publishing Charge. VDE is one of the leading publishers of the German standards collection and offers electrotechnical safety standards. The NormenBibliothek standard portal of VDE (Verband der Elektrotechnik Elektronik Informationstechnik e.V.) provides online access to the entire DIN-VDE standard portfolio. The MPG subscription includes valid standards and drafts of the DIN VDE Groups 0-8 in German.

Each protocol is carefully selected by the editorial board members, written by experts, and rigorously edited to ensure repeated success.

Wiley Online Library Books feature over 15,000 scholarly and professional books, handbooks, dictionaries, companions and landmark book series from Blackwell Publishing, John Wiley & Sons, and Wiley-VCH. From this collection, a set of more than 1,000 e-books was purchased for users from the Max Planck Society. This selection is continuously extended by single e-book acquisitions by MPG libraries. In addition, the MPG purchased 9 electronic Major Reference Works and the Encyclopedia of Life Sciences.

wiso is an online database specially tailored to the needs of users from academic and research institutions by GBI-Genios. It aggregates mainly German content from various publishers, covering economics, social sciences, psychology and technology. wiso provides access to major reference databases, to full texts of selected journals, e-books, magazines and newspapers like VDI Nachrichten or Handelsblatt as well as to company information and market data.
