The database comprises digitized English newspapers and flyers (altogether 1,270 titles) of the 17th and 18th century, from the collection of the clergyman Charles Burney (1757-1817).

As a representative selection from the newspaper collection of the British Library the database contains full texts of 47 British newspapers from the 19th century (approx. 2 million digitized pages). The selection considers both national and regional newspapers.

The database contains exclusively English full texts from approx. 250 newspapers from all states and territories of the US, published between 1800 and 1900, and comprises approx. 1.5 million pages. Digitization is based on holdings of the Library of Congress, the Wisconsin Historical Society, the South Carolina Library, the Western Reserve Historical Society, the Scholarly Resources Archives, the Historical Society of Pennsylvania and the Maryland State Archive.

America's Historical Newspapers is one of the most comprehensive digitized collections of newspapers published in the United States of America between 1690 and 1922. Along with newspapers of national significance it also comprises newspapers from 50 federal states, aiming at covering all American regions as respresentatively as possible. Among the newspapers are also the German-American periodicals of the 18th and 19th century. The national license funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) contains series I, II and (save for few exceptions) III completely, as well as selected titles covering a longer period from series IV and V. Access to the American State Papers, 1789 - 1838, is included.

The Belarus Anti-Fascist Resistance Leaflets collection consists of 97 World War II leaflets produced during the period of German occupation of Belarus in 1941-1944. Most of the leaflets in this collection were published clandestinely by the multiple Soviet guerilla (partisan) detachments, as well as by the scores of underground resistance groups which operated in German-occupied cities and villages. The leaflets were distributed to the population of the occupied territories and were addressed to the “Belarusian brothers and sisters,” to the young men who were lured into serving in German police and paramilitary units, to the workers and farmers of various Belarus regions, etc.

This database contains the content from 30 newspaper titles published during the period of German occupation of Belarus between 1942-1945. Most of the issues were printed by underground resistance groups in secret printing press facilities operating in small Belarusian towns in the territories occupied by the Germans, while others were distributed by Belarusian partisan detachments operating from remote areas of Belarus.

The Digital National Security Archive of the U.S.A. is a comprehensive collection of essential primary documents concerning the U.S. foreign and military policy since 1945. The database, consisting of 33 partial collections, contains more than 80,000 of the most important declassified documents. Thereby, it is about political scripts such as directives of the President, notes, and diplomatic dispatches. It is also about meeting notes, autonomous reports, briefings, communications from the White House, e-mails, confidential letters, and other secret documents. For each partial collection there is included additionally an explanatory reference part containing an introduction, a chronology, a glossary, and a bibliography. The Economist Historical Archive comprises the complete content of all printed editions of the Economist from the years 1843 - 2012. The Economist is the most important international weekly for economic and financial policy. Articles are presented as color images. For the archive full text search with different indexes has been set up. The archive supports export of the "Economic / Financial Indicator" in Excel format, and has a gallery of title images with marked key topics for every week. The DFG subscription covers the years 1843 - 2006 only, but currently full text access has been granted to the complete historical archive.

In the late 1800's, Dutch physician and feminist Aletta Jacobs and her husband C.V. Gerritsen began collecting books, pamphlets and periodicals reflecting the revolution of a feminist consciousness and the movement for women's rights. By the time their successors finished their work in 1945, the Gerritsen Collection was the greatest single source for the study of women's history in the world, with materials spanning four centuries and 15 languages. The Gerritsen curators gathered more than 4,700 publications from continental Europe, the U.S., the United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand, dating from 1543-1945. The anti-feminist case is presented as well as the pro-feminist; many other titles present a purely objective record of the condition of women at a given time.
