Users from the MPG have access to the entire journal collection, including the RSC journals archive covering articles published back to 1841. In addition, a collection of about 900 ebooks was purchased within the scope of the German national licenses program. U.S. Declassified Documents Online offers access to more than 750,000 pages of government documents, covering major policy issues from the period before the Second World War into the twenty first century. This archive of first secret, but now declassified documents, serves as a convenient source for materials from U.S. government departments including: Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Justice Department, National Security Agency, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), State Department, and White House. The materials include: Cabinet meeting minutes, CIA intelligence studies and reports, correspondence, diary entries, Joint Chiefs papers, National Security Council policy statements, political analyses, presidential conferences, and technical studies.

The Acta Sanctorum are one of the most important sources for the exploration of society and culture in the Early Christian and medieval Europe. Our knowledge of this epoch is almost exclusively based on the Hagiographic literature, in particular on this monumental collection of texts published over a period of 300 years by the Societé des Bollandistes. The Acta Sanctorum Database contains the complete text of the 68 volumes printed. -- Die Acta Sanctorum sind eine der wichtigsten Quellen für die Erforschung von Gesellschaft und Kultur im frühchristlichen und mittelalterlichen Europa. Since acquiring Routledge in 1997, the Taylor & Francis Group has purchased many small and medium sized publishing companies, including: Brunner-Routledge, Brunner-Mazel, CRC Press, Frank Cass, Future Science Group, Marcel Dekker, Martin Dunitz, Landes Bioscience (acquired in 2014), Lawrence Erlbaum Associates (acquired in 2006), Parthenon Publishing, Spon Press, Taylor Graham Journals, and Haworth Press. Max Planck researchers have full text access to the current volumes of more than 2,000 core journals (full text access given back to 1997, where available) and to selected archive content. BIOSIS Previews® is the world's most comprehensive reference database for life science research. It covers original research reports and reviews in biological and biomedical areas. Coverage includes traditional areas of biology, such as botany, zoology and microbiology, as well as related fields such as biomedical, agriculture and ecology. Interdisciplinary fields such as medicine, biochemistry, biophysics, bioengineering and biotechnology are also included. Nearly 5,500 serials are monitored for inclusion. In addition, the database covers content summaries, books and meeting abstracts, papers and posters. Content summaries include notes and letters, technical data reports, reviews, U.S. patents from 1986 to 1989 and from 1999, meeting reports from 1980 to present, bibliographies, nomenclature rules, and taxonomic keys. The BIOSIS Previews database includes the contents of Biological Abstracts (1969 to present), Biological Abstracts/RRM (1980 to present) and BioResearch Index (1969 to 1979). As part of the Web of Science (WoS) BIOSIS Previews permits convenient use of Biosystematic Codes/Names for searching groups of organisms as well as the use of Concept Codes/Headings that represent broad subject areas.

ARTbibliographies Modern (ABM) provides full abstracts of journal articles, books, essays, exhibition catalogs, PhD dissertations, and exhibition reviews on all forms of modern and contemporary art, with approximately 12-13,000 new entries being added each year. Entries date back as far as the late 1960s. ABM is the premier source of information on modern and contemporary arts dating from the late 19th century onwards, and including photography since its invention. It includes abstracts of English and foreign-language material on famous and lesser-known artists, movements, and trends. The coverage of ABM is wide-ranging and includes performance art and installation works, video art, computer and electronic art, body art, graffiti, artists' books, theatre arts, conservation, crafts, ceramic and glass art, ethnic arts, graphic and museum design, fashion, and calligraphy, as well as traditional media including illustration, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and drawing.

The two databases (which are searchable simultaneously) contain Sigrid Krämer's collections about more than 34.000 writers and more than 16.000 owners of medieval manuscripts. Along with their names, personal data (if known), manuscript references and criticism are included. The database, which has never been published in print, is relevant for all disciplines (especially those with a focus on medieval studies) that deal with written tradition.

Based on the digitization of K. G. Saur's Biographical Archives, WBIS Online provides biographical information on over 6 Million people from the 8th century B.C. to the present as well as from all countries and regions worldwide.
