FRANCIS indexes multilingual information and provides in-depth coverage of humanities and social sciences.

The FHI library offers the researchers of the Fritz Haber Institute a strong support in the publication process, especially for Open Access publications. It supports the researchers in all their information needs, providing electronic and printed contents and collects special literature covering the research fields of the institute (surface science and catalysis). The library catalogue contains books, e-books, dissertations, journal volumes, book series and holdings from the department libraries.

Frontiers is a community-oriented open-access academic publisher and research network. It was launched in 2007 by scientists from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne and aims to provide better tools and services to researchers in the Internet age. Since then, Frontiers has become one of the fastest-growing open-access scholarly publishers: over 400,000 high-quality, peer-reviewed articles have been published in about 200 community-driven journals across more than 300 specialty niches in science, medicine and technology. Online version of the classical Old French dictionary by Frédéric Godefroy, giving the grammatical category, variant forms, and range of meanings for each word listed. The dictionary includes about 160,000 entries and has been published in 10 volumes between 1881 and 1902.

GeoReM is a Max Planck Institute database for reference materials of geological and environmental interest, such as rock powders, synthetic and natural glasses as well as mineral, isotopic, biological, river water and seawater reference materials. It contains published analytical data and compilation values (major and trace element concentrations and mass fractions, radiogenic and stable isotope ratios). GeoReM covers all important metadata about the analytical values such as uncertainty, analytical method and laboratory. Sample information and references are also included. GeoReM contains almost 3,400 reference materials, about 46,200 analyses from almost 10,000 papers, and preferred analytical values (State: November 2017).

GeoScienceWorld (GSW) is a nonprofit collaborative and comprehensive resource for research and communications in the earth sciences, which is built on a core database of peer-reviewed journals and is integrated with the GeoRef index. The platforms offers a single point of access to more than 40 full text scholarly journals from leading geoscientific organizations, plus specialized searching capabilities and links to millions of relevant resources hosted elsewhere on the Web. Though access to current volumes is no longer licensed, perpetual access rights have been granted to the content published until August 2018.

This collection altogether (in two parts) contains more than 220,000 pages from 848 ebooks by authoresses of the 18th and 19th centuries; first and foremost covering short stories, but also plays, travel literature, children's books, biographies and memoirs. The ebooks were created from books which were originally published during the classical and romantic periods, the pre-March era (Vormärz), the period of Young Germany (Junges Deutschland) and afterwards, and which stem from holdings of the Fürstliche Bibliothek Corvey. The collection contains digitally enhanced facsimile pages of the historic book pages, with links pointing to relevant sections of the works.

The research database "German Literary Expressionism Online", published in 2009, compiles 151 journals, yearbooks, collections and anthologies from the early 20th century, containing 40,000 articles and 79,000 full text pages in total.

ICSD is the world’s largest database for fully identified inorganic crystal structures. It currently contains about 193,000 peer-reviewed data entries including their atomic coordinates. Updates are made twice a year (in spring and in fall) with data taken from scientific journals and other sources. Thanks to these many heterogeneous data sources the database has a wide coverage. ICSD is also updated retroactively. The oldest records date back to the year 1913 and contain information from publications by William Henry Bragg and his son.

The International Encyclopedia of the Social & Behavioral Sciences offers a source of social and behavioral sciences reference material. It comprises over 3,900 articles, commissioned by 71 Section Editors, and includes 90,000 bibliographic references as well as comprehensive name and subject indexes.

The series comprises articles and tables of data relevant to crystallographic research and to applications of crystallographic methods in all sciences concerned with the structure and properties of materials. JoVE, the Journal of Visualized Experiments, is the world's first peer reviewed scientific video journal. Established in 2006, JoVE is devoted to publishing scientific research in a visual format to help researchers overcome two of the biggest challenges facing the scientific research community today; poor reproducibility and the time and labor intensive nature of learning new experimental techniques. Though access to current volumes is no longer licensed, perpetual access rights have been granted to the content published until August 2014 in following sections: JoVE Bioengineering, JoVE Biology, JoVE Neuroscience, JoVE Clinical and Translational Medicine. In addition, articles from JoVe are usually available free of charge after a 24-month delay.

JSTOR provides access to more than 12 million academic journal articles, books, and primary sources in 75 disciplines. Users from the Max Planck Society have access to selected archival collections of scholarly journals and more than 3,000 Open Access ebooks. The book selection is continuously extended by single e-book acquisitions by MPG libraries. For the archival collections, JSTOR's agreements with publishers include an updating provision referred to as a "moving wall". The moving wall is a fixed period of time ranging, in most cases, from two to five years, that defines the gap between the most recently published issue and the date of the most recent issues available in JSTOR.
