Nexis provides access to a collection of global economic data and company information including a broad collection of international, national and local newspapers and magazines, such as Süddeutsche Zeitung, The Guardian, Harvard Business Review, New York Times, Le Monde, Wall Street Journal (Abstracts only), The New York Times, or The Economist - no Financial Times. The database includes legal sources from the UK, the Commonwealth and selected other jurisdictions such as Australia, Canada, France and New Zealand.

Nomos eLibrary provides access to academic books and journals in the subject areas of law, political sciences, economics, media and communication sciences, history, sociology, education and cultural studies, European Union, health sciences. The book selection has been continuously extended through the acquisition of individual eBook packages by MPG libraries. From volume 2022 onwards, access is given to the complete Nomos eBook portfolio. OLC Economic Sciences is a subject oriented selection of bibliographic data from the Online Contents database that is regularly enhanced by table of contents data from 3,150 additional periodicals with more than 4,500,000 records of articles out of the special collections of the ZBW – Leibniz-Informationszentrum Wirtschaft and the university library of the Helmut Schmidt university, Federal Armed Forces, Hamburg.

The database OLC Ibero-America, Spain and Portugal is a regional related section from the Online Contents database that is constantly being completed with the addition of selected journals from the competent Libraries, the Library of the Ibero-American Institute Prussian Cultural Heritage (Ibero-America and the Caribbean) and the state and university library SUB Hamburg (Spain and Portugal). Currently more than 1.400 journals are being indexed. Gradually earlier editions of these journals will also be made accessible.

The multidisciplinary database OLC International Relations and Area Studies contains table of contents of journals from several special subject collections, including political science, economics, the Middle East and other regional special subject collections. It offers a multidisciplinary selection from the Online Contents database, with additional input from other special subject collections. The International Relations and Area Studies section currently covers approximately 797 journals.

The Online Contents service of the Special Subject Collection Political Science and Peace Research is part of the Online Contents database. It offers access to tables of contents of more than 870 journals relevant for study and research. New journals were added until December 2013 by the Special Subject Collection. Thus the database contains approximately 1.478,600 records of journal articles and reviews.

The database POLDOK, in its current version, contains up to 40,000 documents including bibliographical metadata, subject headings and summaries about the topic "Politics of the 80ies". The retrieval system "Freitext" enables fast and convenient access to the database. Freitext was developed in the course of the BMFT project "FiSch - Fachinformation in Schulen" under the management of Prof. Dr. Robert Funk. -- Die Datenbank POLDOK enthält in der vorliegenden Fassung knapp 40.000 Dokumente mit bibliographischen Angaben, Schlagwörtern und Kurzreferaten zum Themenbereich "Politik der 80er Jahre". RePEc is a collaborative effort of hundreds of volunteers in 73 countries to enhance the dissemination of research in economics. The heart of the project is a decentralized database of working papers, journal articles and software components. All RePEc material is freely available.

RiffReporter is a German news magazine based in Berlin and was founded in 2017. RiffReporter delivers in-depth and thoroughly researched journalistic content on topics such as environment, science, technology, society and global affairs. The cooperatively run journalism portal was awarded the renowned Grimme Online Award in 2018. The MPG subscription covers full text access to all content available on the RiffReporter platform.

The SpringerLink platform provides MPG staff with access to a huge collection of English and German eBooks from 2005 onwards, as well as the English and the German collection of the Springer Book Archive (1842-2004). In addition, the content of selected book series is available. Includes major reference works and dictionaries. Max Planck researchers who publish a monograph or edited volume with Springer Nature as an Open Access eBook receive a discount on the standard Book Publishing Charge. SSOAR collects electronic full texts from the domain of the Social Sciences and makes these texts available according to the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Scientific Knowledge.

Die Stenografischen Berichte über die Verhandlungen des Norddeutschen Bundes, des Zollparlaments und des Reichstags liegen in gedruckter Form kontinuierlich von 1867 bis 1942 in 527 Bänden vor. Sie stellen eine der wichtigsten Quellen zur neueren deutschen Geschichte dar, die allerdings aufgrund unregelmäßiger und verstreuter Register nur schwer zugänglich und darüber hinaus in kaum einer Bibliothek vollständig vorhanden war. Seit 1997 hat die DFG im Rahmen des Programms "Retrospektive Digitalisierung von Bibliotheksbeständen" die Digitalisierung der Stenografischen Berichte gefördert. Im zweiten Bewilligungszeitraum konnten für den Zeitraum von 1918 - 1942 148 Bände (122.580 Seiten) digitalisiert und im Internet bereitgestellt werden. Die Bayerische Staatsbibliothek bietet erstmals eine vollständige Ausgabe der Reichstagsberichte (inklusive aller Anlagen) an.
