Als historisch-biographische Lexika sind die ADB (55 Bände und ein Register, 1875-1912) und die NDB (23 Bände, seit 1953) erstrangige Informationsmittel zu ca. 90.000 Personen, die im deutschsprachigen Raum in herausragender Weise wirksam waren. Vom Mittelalter bis zur Gegenwart werden alle Bereiche des öffentlichen, wissenschaftlichen, wirtschaftlichen und kulturellen Lebens berücksichtigt.

Die Bibliothek des Archivs ist eine gut sortierte Spezialbibliothek zur Wissenschaftsgeschichte des 20. Jahrhunderts, mit Schwerpunkt auf der Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gesellschaft und der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft. Nachweise von Monographien, Periodika sowie Aufsätzen aus Zeitschriften und Sammelwerken. Die Sacherschließung erfolgt unter Einsatz der SWD.

The database is a contemporary, reliable and extensive reference work on artists. It contains authoritative, up-to-date biographical information on more than 1 million artists. The database offers biographies in full text from A to Z. The extended scope is due to the incorporation of the renowned Thieme-Becker/Vollmer1 encyclopedia, the Nürnberger Künstlerlexikon and the Lexikon der Künstlerinnen into the database.

Das Biographisch-Bibliographische Kirchenlexikon (BBKL) ist ein biographisches Nachschlagewerk zur Kirchengeschichte, begründet 1975 von Friedrich Wilhelm Bautz. Mit über 20.000 Artikeln, die sowohl von renommierten Wissenschaftlern als auch von interessierten Laien verfasst wurden, gilt das BBKL als sehr aktuelle und umfangreiche biographische Informationsquelle zu Personen der Kirchen-, aber auch der Philosophiegeschichte. Nur der auf knappe Kurzinformationen beschränkte biografische Teil der BBKL ist kostenfrei zugänglich, der Rest ist lizenzpflichtig.

"Data Services for the Social Sciences" is a department of GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences. Its mission is to foster FAIR data, open science and reproducible research in the quantitative and computational social sciences. Enhanced Electronic Grammars (EEG) features comprehensive descriptions of languages from around the world. Through this unique online resource, full grammars are made available together in an interlinked and semantically-annotated format, allowing granular access to the grammatical data and enabling cross-language research of several grammars at the same time. In addition to cross-linguistic queries, each grammar can also be read and researched individually.

The Research Data Centre (FDZ) of the German Federal Employment Agency (BA) at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) is intended mainly to facilitate access to BA and IAB micro data for non-commercial empirical research using standardised and transparent access rules. The FDZ mediates between data producers and external users, and also controls for compliance with data protection regulations.
