The Library of the Max-Planck-Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity is a specialized library with a focus on religious studies, anthropology, political science and sociology. The library does not participate in interlibrary loans but serves as a reference library to provide literature and information, mainly to the members of the Institute.

Nexis provides access to a collection of global economic data and company information including a broad collection of international, national and local newspapers and magazines, such as Süddeutsche Zeitung, The Guardian, Harvard Business Review, New York Times, Le Monde, Wall Street Journal (Abstracts only), The New York Times, or The Economist - no Financial Times. The database includes legal sources from the UK, the Commonwealth and selected other jurisdictions such as Australia, Canada, France and New Zealand.

Nomos eLibrary provides access to academic books and journals in the subject areas of law, political sciences, economics, media and communication sciences, history, sociology, education and cultural studies, European Union, health sciences. Book Collection
Nomos eLibrary provides access to academic books and journals in the subject areas of law, political sciences, economics, media and communication sciences, history, sociology, education and cultural studies, European Union, health sciences. The book selection has been continuously extended through the acquisition of individual eBook packages by MPG libraries. From volume 2022 onwards, access is given to the complete Nomos eBook portfolio. Max Planck researchers can publish their scientific work with Nomos as a print and in parallel as an Open Access eBook in the Nomos eLibrary. Further details are available on the MPDL website.

Reference Database
OLC Economic Sciences is a subject oriented selection of bibliographic data from the Online Contents database that is regularly enhanced by table of contents data from 3,150 additional periodicals with more than 4,500,000 records of articles out of the special collections of the ZBW – Leibniz-Informationszentrum Wirtschaft and the university library of the Helmut Schmidt university, Federal Armed Forces, Hamburg.

Reference Database
The database OLC Ibero-America, Spain and Portugal is a regional related section from the Online Contents database that is constantly being completed with the addition of selected journals from the competent Libraries, the Library of the Ibero-American Institute Prussian Cultural Heritage (Ibero-America and the Caribbean) and the state and university library SUB Hamburg (Spain and Portugal). Currently more than 1.400 journals are being indexed. Gradually earlier editions of these journals will also be made accessible.

Reference Database
The multidisciplinary database OLC International Relations and Area Studies contains table of contents of journals from several special subject collections, including political science, economics, the Middle East and other regional special subject collections. It offers a multidisciplinary selection from the Online Contents database, with additional input from other special subject collections. The International Relations and Area Studies section currently covers approximately 797 journals.

The Online Contents service of the Special Subject Collection Political Science and Peace Research is part of the Online Contents database. It offers access to tables of contents of more than 870 journals relevant for study and research. New journals were added until December 2013 by the Special Subject Collection. Thus the database contains approximately 1.478,600 records of journal articles and reviews.

Online Contents Social Sciences provides access to the tables of contents of journals in the field of sociology and social policy. It is a subject-oriented selection of bibliographic data from the Database Online Contents. The database is regularly enhanced by table of contents data from additional periodicals out of the special collections of the University Library Cologne.

"Psyndex - Literature & Audiovisual Media" contains records on psychology from researchers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Compiled by the German Center for Documentation and Information in Psychology at the University of Trier (ZPID), this database covers German and English journal articles, books, chapters, reports, dissertations as well as audiovisual media. The database is bilingual: titles and descriptors are in German and English. German publications are abstracted in German; English publications in English. The database is indexed with the Thesaurus of Psychological Index Terms by permission of the American Psychological Association. A bilingual thesaurus is included with the database.

"Psyndex - Tests" contains records on psychology from researchers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Compiled by the Leibniz Institute for Psychology Information (ZPID), this database covers about 5,000 extensive descriptions of psychological and educational tests used in the German-speaking countries. "Psyndex - Tests" is bilingual: titles and descriptors are in German and English. German publications are abstracted in German; English publications in English. The database also include theoretical background, testing procedures, test construction, reliability, validity, fields of application, research and other selected literature, a comprehensive discussion, and test reviews. "Psyndex - Tests" is indexed with the Thesaurus of Psychological Index Terms by permission of the American Psychological Association (APA). A bilingual thesaurus is included with the database.

RePEc is a collaborative effort of hundreds of volunteers in 73 countries to enhance the dissemination of research in economics. The heart of the project is a decentralized database of working papers, journal articles and software components. All RePEc material is freely available.

Book Collection • Reference Work
The SpringerLink platform provides MPG staff with access to a huge collection of English and German eBooks from 2005 onwards, as well as the English and the German collection of the Springer Book Archive (1842-2004). In addition, the content of selected book series is available. Includes major reference works and dictionaries. Max Planck researchers who publish a monograph or edited volume with Springer Nature as an Open Access eBook receive a discount on the standard Book Publishing Charge. MPDL covers the costs remaining on a pro rata basis. Further details are available on the MPDL website.

SSOAR collects electronic full texts from the domain of the Social Sciences and makes these texts available according to the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Scientific Knowledge.

Factual Database • Miscellaneous
The department "Survey Data Curation", part of GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, processes and prepares social science research data across a diverse range of data types to support research, especially in comparative perspectives across space and time. The curated data include long-term national (e.g., ALLBUS, GLES, Politbarometer, FReDA) and international (e.g., ISSP, EVS, CSES, Eurobarometer) survey programs with large user communities. The data are prepared for immediate re-use for research and teaching purposes. The department also offers services for linking surveys with geo-data and digital behavioral data.
