The library collects literature on public international law and foreign public law from all over the world and in all languages. The library has the status of a United Nations Depository Library since 1949 and is also a European Documentation Centre of the European Union.

VuFind is our new library resource portal. The MPI EVA Library Catalogue provides information on books and journals available from the Institute's library.

The library of the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science is an interdisciplinary special library focussing in its collections on the history of science. Its inventory, built up since 1994, is only available to scientists from the institute and is not part of the interlibrary loan system.

The Library of the Max Planck Institute for European Legal History is one of the world’s leading legal history libraries which owns up to 440,000 printed items and a multitude of electronic resources.

The library currently offers about 11,000 monographs and conference proceeedings. It holds subscriptions for over 200 journals, an electronic catalogue and a list of Electronic journals and databases.

Die Bibliothek sammelt Literatur in den Bereichen Mathematik, Physik, Materialwissenschaft, Chemie, Biologie und Kognitionswissenschaft. Der Bestand umfasst überwiegend Monografien, Proceedingsbände werden nur bei besonderer Bedeutung der Konferenz erworben.
