EBSCO has partnered with the American Antiquarian Society (AAS) to provide digital access to what is by far the most comprehensive collection of American periodicals published between 1691 and 1877. In total, more than 6,500 periodicals will be available, eclipsing all other online resources in this area. Series 1 presents 550 titles dating from 1691 through 1820. Representing over two centuries of print culture and ranging from early works imported by the colonists to later titles published on American soil on the eve of the Revolution and during the early republic. The subject matter is broad in scope and covers all aspects of American society during this time period.

Book reviews are an important element in the academic discussions. They are a tool for quality measurement with respect to the amount of publications published annually and give an indication of the importance of a published work. IBR contains over 1,16 million entries on book reviews from the years 1985ff. The Russian national bibliography is going back to 1998 and consists of 8 series: * Knigi Rossii (formerly Knizhnaia letopis’): Russian book publications. * Statii iz rossiiskikh gazet (formerly Letopis’ gazetnykh statei): Bibliographic entries on documentary materials, articles, and works of fiction from every major newspaper in Russia. * Statii iz rossiiskikh zhurnalov (formerly Letopis’ zhurnal’nykh statei): The complete index to Russian journals. * Retsenzii iz rossiiskikh izdanii (formerly Letopis’ retsenzii): Book reviews (Russian and foreign) found in the central and regional Russian press. * Rossiiskie kartograficheskie izdaniia (formerly Kartograficheskaia letopis’): Bibliographic information for all cartography and maps produced in Russia. * Avtoreferaty dissertatsii (formerly Letopis’ avtoreferatov dissertatsii): Indexes all synopses of dissertations defended in research and educational establishments in the Russian Federation. * Rossiiskie notnye izdaniia (formerly Notnaia letopis’): General index to Russian music. * Rossiiskie izoizdaniia (formerly Letopis’ izoizdanii): Bibliographic index of albums, posters and reproductions published either separately or appearing in books, collected works and magazines.

Birds of the World (BOW) is a powerful research database that brings together deep, scholarly content from celebrated works of ornithology with millions of bird observations from eBird and multimedia from the Macaulay Library into a single platform where biologists and birders can explore comprehensive life history information on birds. BOW content is written by ornithologists all over the world and was amassed from four major celebrated works of ornithology: Birds of North America, The Handbook of Birds of the World, Neotropical Birds, and Bird Families of the World.

A major STM journal publisher of 89 online and print journals, 200 plus open access journals, and related print/online book series, Bentham Science answers the informational needs of the pharmaceutical, biomedical and medical research community. Though access to current volumes is no longer licensed, access to the Bentham's e-Journal archive - 2008 is still provided.

In addition to the 75.000 prints belonging to the basic content, VD16 comprises a supplement of more than 25.000 new titles. New titles are added continuously through acquisitions by the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek for the Collection of German Prints, as well as through data provided by national and foreign libraries.

The bibliographic project, Bibliography of Books Printed in the German Speaking Countries from 1601 to 1700 (VD17), intends to establish a German National Bibliography of the 17th century imprints. All German titles and all titles which have been printed or published in the former German speaking countries will be catalogued. Broadsheets are listed, musica practica (notations) and maps are excluded. VD 17 will be continuously enlarged and made more complete by contributions from associated libraries, the database currently contains more than 300.000 entries.

BASE is a multidisciplinary search engine for scholarly internet resources which have been harvested from several hundred scientific repositories. Some of the indexed resources in BASE are subject to license, while most material is free available ("open access").

BIOSIS Previews® is the world's most comprehensive reference database for life science research. It covers original research reports and reviews in biological and biomedical areas. Coverage includes traditional areas of biology, such as botany, zoology and microbiology, as well as related fields such as biomedical, agriculture and ecology. Interdisciplinary fields such as medicine, biochemistry, biophysics, bioengineering and biotechnology are also included. Nearly 5,500 serials are monitored for inclusion. In addition, the database covers content summaries, books and meeting abstracts, papers and posters. Bowker's Books in Print is a bibliographic database on the ProQuest platform featuring millions of in-print, out-of-print, and forthcoming books, audio books, and videos from more than 40 countries, including the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, as well as Spanish-language titles from Spain and Central and South America. Book descriptions available are extended by annotations, tables of contents, and publisher information.

Brill is an academic publishing house with a strong international focus. The main subject areas of Brill's publication program are Ancient Near East & Egypt, Asian Studies, Biblical Studies & Religious Studies, Classic Studies, Medieval & Early Modern Studies, Middle East & Islamic Studies, Social Sciences and STM & Biology. The resource grants access to the archival volumes of 29 medical journals (partly with high impact factor) published by the British Medical Journals Publishing Group, amongst others to the renowned British Medical Journal. Access to content before 2006 is enabled by the publisher at no cost, content is publicly available.

It covers the significant research and development literature in the fields of agriculture, forestry, aspects of human health, human nutrition, animal health, and the management and conservation of natural resources.

Cairn offers the most comprehensive collection of French and Belgian journals in social sciences available online. Note that access to newer content is generally not free of charge (moving wall 2 to 5 years).
