BASE is a multidisciplinary search engine for scholarly internet resources which have been harvested from several hundred scientific repositories. Some of the indexed resources in BASE are subject to license, while most material is free available ("open access").

The GESIS search can be used to find information about social science research data and open access publications. LIVIVO bundles scientifically relevant resources from the subjects fields medicine, health, nutrition, environmental and agricultural sciences. It provides a common search interface over various data sources, such as library catalogs, specialist bibliographic databases, full texts from journals, and quality-controlled web content. LIVIVO combines the former ZB MED search portals MEDPILOT (2003 to 2015) and GREENPILOT (2009 to 2015).

MIA contains the writings of 592 authors representing a complete spectrum of political, philosophical, and scientific thought, generally spanning the past 200 years. Being a communist means working for the self-emancipation of the working class; it means striving to unite the working class, in all its diversity, in the struggle to overthrow capitalism. In the 1840s, Marx and Engels placed communism on a scientific footing through the theory of dialectical materialism. Marxists are those who have continued this ever since. If any one of the following criteria apply, the MIA Collective may decide to place the writer into the Reference Archive: (i) they pre-date Marx and Engels, (ii) they specifically reject Marxism, (iii) their work is practically and theoretically unconnected or hostile toward the workers movement, (iv) their work is idealistic or lacking in dialectic. In addition to the 75.000 prints belonging to the basic content, VD16 comprises a supplement of more than 25.000 new titles. New titles are added continuously through acquisitions by the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek for the Collection of German Prints, as well as through data provided by national and foreign libraries.

The bibliographic project, Bibliography of Books Printed in the German Speaking Countries from 1601 to 1700 (VD17), intends to establish a German National Bibliography of the 17th century imprints. All German titles and all titles which have been printed or published in the former German speaking countries will be catalogued. Broadsheets are listed, musica practica (notations) and maps are excluded. VD 17 will be continuously enlarged and made more complete by contributions from associated libraries, the database currently contains more than 300.000 entries.

zbMATH Open (formerly known as Zentralblatt MATH) is the world's most complete and longest running abstracting and reviewing service in pure and applied mathematics. The MATH Database contains several million entries drawn from more than 3,500 serials and journals, and more than 1,100 book series and monographs. The entries are classified according to the Mathematics Subject Classification Scheme (MSC 2000).
