The Internet Archive is a non-profit organization that offers permanent access for the general public to historical collections that exist in digital format. The Internet Archive includes collections of digitized materials, including websites, software applications and games, music, movies and videos, moving images, and nearly three million public-domain books. The Internet Archive allows the public to upload and download digital material , but most of its data is collected automatically by its web crawlers to preserve as much of the public web as possible. The Wayback Machine, a huge web archive, contains over 150 billion web captures.

IOPscience is a platform for scientific content published by IOP Publishing and selected publishing partners. Users from the Max Planck Society have access to nearly the entire journal collection. This includes the content provided by the Institute of Physics, The Electrochemical Society, Turpion (English translations of leading Russian journals) and the American Astronomical Society. JSTOR provides access to more than 12 million academic journal articles, books, and primary sources in 75 disciplines. Users from the Max Planck Society have access to selected archival collections of scholarly journals and more than 3,000 Open Access ebooks. The book selection is continuously extended by single e-book acquisitions by MPG libraries. For the archival collections, JSTOR's agreements with publishers include an updating provision referred to as a "moving wall". The moving wall is a fixed period of time ranging, in most cases, from two to five years, that defines the gap between the most recently published issue and the date of the most recent issues available in JSTOR.

Karger is a scientific publisher of journals and books in all medical areas, including immunology, genetics, oncology, nephrology, neurology, cellular and molecular biology. MPG staff has full text access to the current content of the entire Karger journal collection and selected eBooks. Language Description Heritage (LDH) provides open access to descriptive material about the world's languages with a focus on traditionally difficult to obtain works. This collection is being compiled at first by the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology and now by the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History. -- Language Description Heritage (LDH) ist eine Datenbank, die freien Zugriff auf deskriptive Materialien zu den Sprachen der Welt gewährt. MIT Press Direct is the content platform for publications owned by the MIT Press. The Press is one of the largest and distinguished university presses in the world and a leading publisher of books and journals at the intersection of science, technology, art, social science, and design. Within the Direct to Open (D2O) model Max Planck users have access to current ebooks from selected subject collections (published between 2022 and 2024), i.e. STEM collection, art and design collection, humanities and social sciences collection. Nomos eLibrary provides access to academic books and journals in the subject areas of law, political sciences, economics, media and communication sciences, history, sociology, education and cultural studies, European Union, health sciences. The book selection has been continuously extended through the acquisition of individual eBook packages by MPG libraries. From volume 2022 onwards, access is given to the complete Nomos eBook portfolio. The OAPEN Library contains freely accessible academic books, mainly in the area of Humanities and Social Sciences. OAPEN works with publishers to build a quality controlled collection of Open Access books, and provides services for publishers, libraries and research funders in the areas of dissemination, quality assurance and digital preservation. Olms Online is an e-book portal providing access to following collections: * Reprints: About 400 volumes with a focus on German language and literature and on philosophy. Olms Online presents titles with additional information. The Oxford English Dictionary is a guide to the meaning, history, and pronunciation of over half a million words and phrases, both present and past, from across the English-speaking world. It traces the usage of words through 3.5 million quotations from a wide range of international English language sources, from classic literature and specialist periodicals to film scripts, song lyrics and social media posts.

Including Oxford Scholarship Online (OSO), the University Press Scholarship Online (UPSO) publishes new books every month from an ever-growing roster of contributing presses, each adding to the variety of subjects covered on the platform. The MPG purchased the volumes 2003-2013/2014 of 16 OSO subject collections. This selection is continuously extended by single e-book acquisitions by MPG libraries.

Facsimile edition of the "Patrologia Graeca", edited by Jacques-Paul Migne from 1857 to 1866 in more than 160 volumes. The database comprises works of the Greek church literature beginning with Pseudo-Clemens (100 AD) up to Kallistos (1478) and thus makes available the important Greek Christian authors and the most influential works of theology, philosophy, history and literature of the late ancient world and the early Middle Ages. Texts are made easily accessible by an index of contents in Latin and Greek language, by an index of authors, a title index and an index of subject. All of these indexes are full text ones.

The Patrologia Latina Database is an electronic version of the first edition of Jacques-Paul Migne's Patrologia Latina, published between 1844 and 1855, and the four volumes of indexes published between 1862 and 1865. Patrologia Latina comprises the works of the Church Fathers from Tertullian in 200 AD to the death of Pope Innocent III in 1216. The complete Patrologia Latina is included with all prefatory material, original texts, critical apparatus and indexes. Migne's column numbers, essential references for scholars, are included.
