CESSDA provides large scale, integrated and sustainable data services to the social sciences, having evolved from a network of European data service providers into a legal entity and large-scale infrastructure under the auspices of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) Roadmap.CESSDA provides a seamless interface to datasets from social science data archives across Europe.

"Data Services for the Social Sciences" is a department of GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences. Its mission is to foster FAIR data, open science and reproducible research in the quantitative and computational social sciences. To ensure that data holdings remain usable and interpretable over the long term, it offers sustainable infrastructures and services for data management, curation, and long-term preservation. ​These include archiving services with different curation levels for different needs as well as access to archived data including access to sensitive data in the GESIS Secure Data Center. The department "Survey Data Curation", part of GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, processes and prepares social science research data across a diverse range of data types to support research, especially in comparative perspectives across space and time. The curated data include long-term national (e.g., ALLBUS, GLES, Politbarometer, FReDA) and international (e.g., ISSP, EVS, CSES, Eurobarometer) survey programs with large user communities. The data are prepared for immediate re-use for research and teaching purposes. The department also offers services for linking surveys with geo-data and digital behavioral data.

Die Stenografischen Berichte über die Verhandlungen des Norddeutschen Bundes, des Zollparlaments und des Reichstags liegen in gedruckter Form kontinuierlich von 1867 bis 1942 in 527 Bänden vor. Sie stellen eine der wichtigsten Quellen zur neueren deutschen Geschichte dar, die allerdings aufgrund unregelmäßiger und verstreuter Register nur schwer zugänglich und darüber hinaus in kaum einer Bibliothek vollständig vorhanden war. Seit 1997 hat die DFG im Rahmen des Programms "Retrospektive Digitalisierung von Bibliotheksbeständen" die Digitalisierung der Stenografischen Berichte gefördert. Im zweiten Bewilligungszeitraum konnten für den Zeitraum von 1918 - 1942 148 Bände (122.580 Seiten) digitalisiert und im Internet bereitgestellt werden. Die Bayerische Staatsbibliothek bietet erstmals eine vollständige Ausgabe der Reichstagsberichte (inklusive aller Anlagen) an.
