Anthropology Online brings together a wide range of written ethnographies, field notes, seminal texts, memoirs, and contemporary studies, covering human behavior the world over. It will grow to become the most comprehensive resource for the study of social and cultural life yet created. Cross-searchable with Ethnographic Video Online, Anthropology Online provides sociologists, anthropologists, cultural historians, and others with complete works of the key practitioners and theorists alike throughout the discipline. The majority of the content is in English, with some French and German material. Geographical coverage is global, with special focus given outside the developed world. Ranging from 19th century to the present day, Anthropology Online documents the history and development of the discipline itself, while also providing the most comprehensive tool for current trends and contemporary study.

The database contains 18th and 19th century primary literature in German, English, and French from the Corvey library, and thus presents the holdings of a library of the nobility preserved as a whole. Nearly all textual genres are represented, whereas the contentual focus lies on the Romantic period between 1790 and 1840 (1870, respectively). The collection is structured in a modular way with regard to languages and textual genres, and comprises 5,952 works which are provided in digital form for the first time. The online edition of Dictionary of German Biography (DBE) provides information about people from all aspects of public life: men and women from the entire German-speaking area, from the time of the very earliest written records right up to the present. The biographies inform the reader about a person's origins, education, influential encounters, professional development, places of influence, significant works and achievements, friendships and relationships, membership of groups and associations, reception and, in special cases, prizes and honours. To be able to evaluate the life and work of a person in its completeness, DBE only contains people who are already dead. Dictionary of German Biography Online contains all articles from the second book edition of DBE.

DigiZeitschriften is a digital library containing digitized back issues of core German research journals. At the moment the platform provides full-text access to more than 600 journals dating back to 1850. The archive content is edited on an ongoing basis. Any existing gaps will be filled and missing data steadily added. Users from the MPG have access to the complete journal collection, older public domain content is available free of charge to anyone.

Duncker & Humblot is a German producer of high-quality academic research and scholarly publications, especially in the fields of law and social science. The Duncker & Humblot eLibrary provides users from the Max Planck Society with access to following products: * e-book collections 2007-2010, containing about 900 e-books in the fields of law, economics, social sciences, history, politics, philosophy and literary studies. * e-book collection Economics 1996–2005, containing about 360 e-books * e-book collection 'Best of reprints' Economics and Finance 1875–1941, containing about 100 e-books The collection is continuously extended by single e-book acquisitions by MPG libraries.

This collection altogether (in two parts) contains more than 220,000 pages from 848 ebooks by authoresses of the 18th and 19th centuries; first and foremost covering short stories, but also plays, travel literature, children's books, biographies and memoirs. The ebooks were created from books which were originally published during the classical and romantic periods, the pre-March era (Vormärz), the period of Young Germany (Junges Deutschland) and afterwards, and which stem from holdings of the Fürstliche Bibliothek Corvey. The collection contains digitally enhanced facsimile pages of the historic book pages, with links pointing to relevant sections of the works.

The research database "German Literary Expressionism Online", published in 2009, compiles 151 journals, yearbooks, collections and anthologies from the early 20th century, containing 40,000 articles and 79,000 full text pages in total.

In the late 1800's, Dutch physician and feminist Aletta Jacobs and her husband C.V. Gerritsen began collecting books, pamphlets and periodicals reflecting the revolution of a feminist consciousness and the movement for women's rights. By the time their successors finished their work in 1945, the Gerritsen Collection was the greatest single source for the study of women's history in the world, with materials spanning four centuries and 15 languages. The Gerritsen curators gathered more than 4,700 publications from continental Europe, the U.S., the United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand, dating from 1543-1945. The anti-feminist case is presented as well as the pro-feminist; many other titles present a purely objective record of the condition of women at a given time.

Nomos eLibrary provides access to academic books and journals in the subject areas of law, political sciences, economics, media and communication sciences, history, sociology, education and cultural studies, European Union, health sciences. The book selection has been continuously extended through the acquisition of individual eBook packages by MPG libraries. From volume 2022 onwards, access is given to the complete Nomos eBook portfolio. Online Contents Classics provides access to the tables of contents of journals in the field of classical studies, especially Greek and Latin Philology, Prehistory, Early History, Ancient History and Archaeology, Egyptology. It is a subject-oriented selection of bibliographic data from the Database Online Contents. This database is regularly enhanced by table of contents data from additional periodicals out of the special collections of the University Library Heidelberg as German central subject library for Archaeology and Egyptology and of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, as German central subject library for Greek and Latin Philology and Ancient History.

The creation and improvement of the Online Contents Contemporary History database was supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft within the framework of the Clio-online network and the Internet portal Zeitgeschichte-online until 2008. The further development of the database is co-ordinated by the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin - Preußischer Kulturbesitz (SBB-PK) in cooperation with the Research Centre for Contemporary History in Potsdam, the Lower Saxon State and University Library Göttingen, the German central subject library for Anglo-American history, the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek (BSB; Bavarian State Library), the German central subject library for General History; History of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Italy, East-European History, the Bibliothek für Zeitgeschichte in der Württembergischen Landesbibliothek Stuttgart as special library for the contemporary history and the library of the Stiftung Topographie des Terrors (Foundation Topography of Terror Berlin).

The database OLC History is a subject-oriented selection of bibliographic data from the Online Contents database which is supplemented weekly by additional data provided by a number of German libraries. The creation and improvement of the Online Contents History database is currently supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft within the framework of the Clio-online network. The development of the database is coordinated by the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin - Preußischer Kulturbesitz (SBB-PK) in cooperation with the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek (BSB; Bavarian State Library) Munich, the German central subject library for General History; Prehistory and Early History; Ancient history; History of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Italy, East-European History. The database, which is updated weekly, contains the contents of about 1,100 journals, usually beginning with articles published in 1993.

The database OLC Ibero-America, Spain and Portugal is a regional related section from the Online Contents database that is constantly being completed with the addition of selected journals from the competent Libraries, the Library of the Ibero-American Institute Prussian Cultural Heritage (Ibero-America and the Caribbean) and the state and university library SUB Hamburg (Spain and Portugal). Currently more than 1.400 journals are being indexed. Gradually earlier editions of these journals will also be made accessible.

The Online Contents service of the Special Subject Collection Political Science and Peace Research is part of the Online Contents database. It offers access to tables of contents of more than 870 journals relevant for study and research. New journals were added until December 2013 by the Special Subject Collection. Thus the database contains approximately 1.478,600 records of journal articles and reviews.

This Slavic Studies Bundle by Brill comprises 14 digitized collections with rare and often unique materials covering various aspects of Russian and Soviet history.

The SpringerLink platform provides MPG staff with access to a huge collection of English and German eBooks from 2005 onwards, as well as the English and the German collection of the Springer Book Archive (1842-2004). In addition, the content of selected book series is available. Includes major reference works and dictionaries. Max Planck researchers who publish a monograph or edited volume with Springer Nature as an Open Access eBook receive a discount on the standard Book Publishing Charge. Documents and Rare Printed Materials from the Wiener Library, London. This digital resource offers the unique resources of the World’s oldest Holocaust museum. The collection offers fully searchable personal accounts of life in Nazi Germany, along with photographs, propaganda materials such as school text books, limited circulation publications and rare serials in a uniquely flexible format, enabling detailed research into the domestic policies of Nazi Germany, Jewish life in Germany from 1933 to after the war, propaganda, life in the concentration camps, in hiding, emigration and refugee life.
