Early American Imprints, Series II: Shaw/Shoemaker (1801-1819) is an essential complement to Early American Imprints, Series I: Evans (1639-1800) the definitive resource for researching 17th- and 18th-century America. The collection provides a comprehensive set of American books, pamphlets, broadsides and other imprints published in the early part of the 19th century. It is based on the noted -American Bibliography, 1801-1819- by Ralph R. Shaw and Richard H. Shoemaker and covers more than four million pages from over 36,000 items - including 1,000 catalogued new items unavailable in previous microform editions. North American Immigrant Letters, Diaries and Oral Histories includes thousands of authors and approximately 100,000 pages of information, thus providing a unique and personal view of what it meant to immigrate to America and Canada between 1800 and 1950. Composed of contemporaneous letters and diaries, oral histories, interviews, and other personal narratives, the series provides a rich source for scholars in a wide range of disciplines. In selected cases, users will be able to hear the actual audio voices of the immigrants.
