The CMS deals with various aspects of editorial practice, from American English grammar and usage to document preparation. It also prescribes writing and citation styles widely used in publishing. Complete full text database of Chinese publications particularly from the republican period (1911 - 1946) to the present, with a focus on publications issued before 1976. These publications are difficult to be obtained abroad, since the book market for the People's Republic of China was globally available only after the late 1970s. The database contains 700,000 titles (monographs, collections, partly journals from the republican period and other forms of text) from all subject areas, including literature and archival material. The focus lies on social sciences and humanities.

The "De Gruyter Online" platform provides access to title information and the electronic content for De Gruyter journals and books under one roof. ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Global is the world's most comprehensive collection of dissertations and theses, covering materials back to the first U.S. dissertation, accepted in 1861, as well as to European dissertations from the 17th century. The database is the official dissertations repository for the Library of Congress, with 4 million bibliographic citations, 2 million full texts, 3000 contributing Institutions worldwide and 130,000 works added annually.

From the first book published in English, the book from William Caxton, through the age of Spenser and Shakespeare and the tumult of the English Civil War, this collection contains about 100,000 of over 125,000 titles listed in Pollard & Redgrave's Short-Title Catalogue (1475-1640) and Wing's Short-Title Catalogue (1641-1700) and their revised editions, as well as the Thomason Tracts (1640-1661) collection and the Early English Books Tract Supplement. -- Angefangen vom ersten in englischer Sprache veröffentlichten Buch, das Buch von William Caxton, hindurch durch das Zeitalter von Spenser und Shakespeare und den Tumult des Englischen Bürgerkrieges, umfasst diese Sammlung mehr als 100.000 der 125.000 in den Kurztitelkatalogen von Polard & Redgrave (1475-1640) und Wing (1641-1700) gelisteten Bücher im Volltext. The ScienceDirect interface provides access to the electronic content owned by Elsevier and third-party information providers like Cell Press. Max Planck researchers have full text access to current content in "Acta Materialia", "Current Biology" and "Lithos" as well as pre-2019 content from 900 Elsevier eJournals (incl. the journals of the former publishers Academic Press and Urban & Fischer) and Cell Press eJournals. The MPG subscription also covers a collection of 680 Elsevier eBooks acquired in 2015. In addition, selected eJournal and eBook backfiles have been purchased within the scope of the German national licenses program.

The ebooks are hosted on University Library Online, e-content platform with English language interface. Additionally, for gaining a deeper understanding of Russia and Russian language, it provides access to: encyclopedias, audiobooks and maps.

Wiley Online Library Books feature over 15,000 scholarly and professional books, handbooks, dictionaries, companions and landmark book series from Blackwell Publishing, John Wiley & Sons, and Wiley-VCH. From this collection, a set of more than 1,000 e-books was purchased for users from the Max Planck Society. This selection is continuously extended by single e-book acquisitions by MPG libraries. In addition, the MPG purchased 9 electronic Major Reference Works and the Encyclopedia of Life Sciences.
