The Bibliography of the Hebrew Book covers the national bibliography of the Jewish people: a detailed description of all the literature printed in the Hebrew alphabet, across the world in all languages. The Hebrew bibliography includes most of the books printed in Hebrew, Ladino, Yiddish, Judeo-Arabic and other Judeo languages found in Israel and worldwide, printed since the establishment of the Hebrew print (around the year 1460) till 1960. Chinese Ancient Books provides access to fulltexts of 10.000 pre-modern Chinese works.

Complete full text database of Chinese publications particularly from the republican period (1911 - 1946) to the present, with a focus on publications issued before 1976. These publications are difficult to be obtained abroad, since the book market for the People's Republic of China was globally available only after the late 1970s. The database contains 700,000 titles (monographs, collections, partly journals from the republican period and other forms of text) from all subject areas, including literature and archival material. The focus lies on social sciences and humanities.

The Digital Library of Classic Protestant Texts gives researchers access to an extensive range of seminal works from the Reformation and post-Reformation eras. With new content uploads occurring on a regular basis, the database offers a constantly growing treasury of theological writings, biblical commentaries, confessional documents, and polemical treatises written by more than 300 Protestant authors.

The database contains 18th and 19th century primary literature in German, English, and French from the Corvey library, and thus presents the holdings of a library of the nobility preserved as a whole. Digi20 concentrates on the digitalization of monographs published in the second half of the 20th century, predominantly in the field of humanities and social sciences. In the first phase of the project, approx. 4,700 titles of programme segments of the publishers Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht, Wilhelm Fink / Ferdinand Schöningh as well as Otto Sagner were digitized. In a second phase, further approx. 1,750 titles are being included till 2014 by consecutively digitizing all monographs up to a defined ‘Moving Wall’ of three to five years to the current year of publication.

Since its foundation in 1964 the Max Planck Institute for European Legal History has been intensively engaged in research into the history of private law in Europe. It therefore has a particularly rich store of literary sources on 19th century German, Austrian and Swiss private and civil procedural law. With support from the German Research Foundation (DFG) it has been possible to digitize this exceptional concentration of material and make it available to a wider scientific audience. In the course of the project, which extended from 1997 until 2002, some 4,316 volumes were digitized comprising around 1,350,000 pages. For the Institute library this venture into digitization represents a continuation of its long-standing initiative to maintain and conserve its collections.

Emerald Archive references full text articles from nearly 400 journals and more than 1,100 books published by Emerald until 2021. Add-on content, such as case studies, interviews, and reviews, is available. The major amount of the content originates from the field of economics. In addition, library science and engineering are covered.

This collections contains 1,529 e-books containing more than 572,000 pages from 681 book titles that were written by 311 authoresses. These e-books were created from 1,830 books originally published between 1776 and 1876. The collection first and foremost contains novels and short stories, but also plays, poetry as well as a few anthologies, travel literature and children's books that stem from the holdings of the Fürstliche Bibliothek Corvey. It is the most comprehensive compilation of women's literature from the romantic period in English language. The collection contains approximately 90 percent of the British prose published during that time. The e-books contain digitally enhanced facsimile pages of the historic book pages, and additionally bookmarks pointing to relevant sections of a work. On the e-book pages, full text search functions can be carried out within the historic text and layout.

Gale Virtual Reference Library provides a powerful platform to search and access encyclopedias, almanacs, and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. The collection of available resources will grow according to the subscriptions selected by the Max Planck Institutes.

This collection altogether (in two parts) contains more than 220,000 pages from 848 ebooks by authoresses of the 18th and 19th centuries; first and foremost covering short stories, but also plays, travel literature, children's books, biographies and memoirs. The ebooks were created from books which were originally published during the classical and romantic periods, the pre-March era (Vormärz), the period of Young Germany (Junges Deutschland) and afterwards, and which stem from holdings of the Fürstliche Bibliothek Corvey. The collection contains digitally enhanced facsimile pages of the historic book pages, with links pointing to relevant sections of the works.

In the late 1800's, Dutch physician and feminist Aletta Jacobs and her husband C.V. Gerritsen began collecting books, pamphlets and periodicals reflecting the revolution of a feminist consciousness and the movement for women's rights. By the time their successors finished their work in 1945, the Gerritsen Collection was the greatest single source for the study of women's history in the world, with materials spanning four centuries and 15 languages. The Gerritsen curators gathered more than 4,700 publications from continental Europe, the U.S., the United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand, dating from 1543-1945. The anti-feminist case is presented as well as the pro-feminist; many other titles present a purely objective record of the condition of women at a given time.

The Internet Archive is a non-profit organization that offers permanent access for the general public to historical collections that exist in digital format. The Internet Archive includes collections of digitized materials, including websites, software applications and games, music, movies and videos, moving images, and nearly three million public-domain books. The Internet Archive allows the public to upload and download digital material , but most of its data is collected automatically by its web crawlers to preserve as much of the public web as possible. The Wayback Machine, a huge web archive, contains over 150 billion web captures.

IOPscience is a platform for scientific content published by IOP Publishing and selected publishing partners. Users from the Max Planck Society have access to nearly the entire journal collection. This includes the content provided by the Institute of Physics, The Electrochemical Society, Turpion (English translations of leading Russian journals) and the American Astronomical Society. Facsimile edition of the "Patrologia Graeca", edited by Jacques-Paul Migne from 1857 to 1866 in more than 160 volumes. The database comprises works of the Greek church literature beginning with Pseudo-Clemens (100 AD) up to Kallistos (1478) and thus makes available the important Greek Christian authors and the most influential works of theology, philosophy, history and literature of the late ancient world and the early Middle Ages. Texts are made easily accessible by an index of contents in Latin and Greek language, by an index of authors, a title index and an index of subject. All of these indexes are full text ones.

The Patrologia Latina Database is an electronic version of the first edition of Jacques-Paul Migne's Patrologia Latina, published between 1844 and 1855, and the four volumes of indexes published between 1862 and 1865. Patrologia Latina comprises the works of the Church Fathers from Tertullian in 200 AD to the death of Pope Innocent III in 1216. The international and interdisciplinary text collection about contemporary and classical theories of society and the social principle compiles writings by Max Weber, Karl Marx, Jürgen Habermas, Robert Merton, George Herbert Mead, Auguste Comte, Jean Baudrillard, Michel Foucault, Saul Howard Becker, Herbert Spencer, Antonio Gramsci, Alexis de Tocqueville, Harriet Martineau, Talcott Parsons, Émile Durkheim, Georg Simmel, Simone de Beauvoir, Pierre Bourdieu, Theodor W. Adorno, etc. Texts frequently appear in their original versions as well as in English translation.

Max Planck researchers who publish a monograph or edited volume with Springer Nature as an Open Access eBook receive a discount on the standard Book Publishing Charge. As the publisher of DIN, Europe's largest standardization body, Beuth provides digital versions of German standards as DIN and VDI standards as well as European and a multitude of international standards, including ISO standards. The Max Planck Society purchased a selection of these standards and makes them available to Max Planck staff via an internal web server. The ebooks are hosted on University Library Online, e-content platform with English language interface. Additionally, for gaining a deeper understanding of Russia and Russian language, it provides access to: encyclopedias, audiobooks and maps.

VDE is one of the leading publishers of the German standards collection and offers electrotechnical safety standards. The NormenBibliothek standard portal of VDE (Verband der Elektrotechnik Elektronik Informationstechnik e.V.) provides online access to the entire DIN-VDE standard portfolio. The MPG subscription includes valid standards and drafts of the DIN VDE Groups 0-8 in German.

This collection contains 35.000 pages of English-speaking national literature from 116 books originally published between 1789 and 1834. Independently from authors' places of birth, their works have been selected for the collection according to their Wales-related content. The collection has been compiled by members of Cardiff University, Wales, from literature holdings of the Fürstliche Bibliothek Corvey. E-books contain digitally enhanced facsimile pages of historical book pages, and even bookmarks to relevant parts of works. Within e-book pages, i.e. within historical texts and layout, fulltext searches can be performed.

From this collection, a set of more than 1,000 e-books was purchased for users from the Max Planck Society. This selection is continuously extended by single e-book acquisitions by MPG libraries. In addition, the MPG purchased 9 electronic Major Reference Works and the Encyclopedia of Life Sciences.

wiso is an online database specially tailored to the needs of users from academic and research institutions by GBI-Genios. It aggregates mainly German content from various publishers, covering economics, social sciences, psychology and technology. wiso provides access to major reference databases, to full texts of selected journals, e-books, magazines and newspapers like VDI Nachrichten or Handelsblatt as well as to company information and market data.

The World Bank eLibrary comprises all eBooks of the World Bank published by its researchers. The publications particularly deal with the socio-economic development in less developed countries and regions, and comprise research results in the fields of development policy, economic policy, foreign trade, health, education, development aid, and poverty. Additionally, access to two eJournals is enabled via the archive, as well as access to 7,400 working papers offered by the World Bank in open access mode.
